Our vision is for children to live in safe, stable homes, nurtured by their families and communities
Carr’s Child and Family Service established in 1887 provides support services to children and their families. In partnership with Tusla, the Child and Family Agency the main focus of our work is on strengthening family relationships to achieve the best possible outcomes for children.
Our ethos is based in the belief that while families need good quality professional care this on its own is not enough. Families need humanity. Therefore our programmes are strengths based and grounded in theory and research to build on those strengths. Our motto is doing things ‘with’ families not ‘to’ them or ‘for’ them.
Ecclesville is a purpose built mother and baby service offering accommodation and support to women aged from 18 years who are pregnant and/or have young children under the age of two.
The service is designed to help mothers manage their tenancy, develop their life and parenting skills, encourage independent living, return to education and reduce the risk of homelessness. The mothers are also given support to move on and settle into their community.
The crèche is also purpose built and offers early intervention support to families. The team work closely with the families who are active partners in the day to day running of the crèche.
